FC Barcelona survives epic overtime thriller vs Olympiacos

FC Barcelona survived a late thriller against Olympiacos in the game that concluded the third round of the EuroLeague.

The Catalans necessary two free throws from Pierre Oriola to defeat the “Reds” in overtime (79-78). Kostas Sloukas missed the game-winning two-pointer at the buzzer and Olympiacos lost its 1st EuroLeague game.

Prior to that moment, the Greek giants were in control in the 1st half, but FC Barcelona took more than later. The “Blaugrana” led by nine (47-38), but saw Olympiacos come back once again.

Considering that then, it was a tough-fought battle (61-61, 65-65) and the final seconds, each in regulation and overtime, figure out the winner. FC Barcelona remained undefeated in the EuroLeague (3-), along with ASVEL Villeurbanne and Anadolu Efes. On the other hand, Olympiacos dropped to 2-1.

In Madrid, Monaco attempted a single of the wildest comebacks in EuroLeague history, but ultimately lost to Actual at Wizink Center (94-86).

The “Whites” led by 25 in the 1st half (44-19), but the guests never ever gave up. With an extraordinary efficiency on both ends, they went on a 37-64 run and took the lead (81-83).

Crvena Zvezda remained close to the prime of the table after its 73-61 residence win over Zalgiris Kaunas. The Serbians played very effectively in the second half and that was enough to give them the victory. Zvezda outscored the Lithuanians 44-34 and sealed the deal.

The hosts improved to two-1 in the standings. On the other hand, Zalgiris is nevertheless winless and at the bottom of the table (-3).

EuroLeague Round four will take place on Thursday and Friday.
